The Story
When the homeowners of this stunning 1920s heritage property in Unionville approached us, they wanted flooring that would honor the home's historic character while standing up to modern family life. The Challenge: The original hardwood floors had seen a century of wear, and underneath were uneven subfloors that needed careful preparation. The homeowners wanted a warm, natural look that would complement the home's exposed brick and vintage trim work. The Solution: We selected the Vidar Moon Light European White Oak in a wide 7.5" plank format. The soft grey tones and matte finish provided the perfect balance—sophisticated enough for the formal dining room, yet durable enough for the high-traffic kitchen and hallway. Our team spent extra time leveling the subfloor and using a floating installation method to preserve the structural integrity of the heritage home. The herringbone pattern in the entryway became an instant focal point. The Result: 1,800 sq.ft of seamless, timeless flooring that the family—and their heritage home—will enjoy for generations to come.
